1 Chronicles 1
This chapter gives the genealogy of Adam through Abraham. The second half is the Genealogy of the sons of Abraham, Esau and Isaac. For our purposes to get to the line of David, we will follow the line from Isaac to Jacob (later named Israel.)
1 Chronicles 2
This is the Genealogy of Jacob (Israel), listing his twelve sons. Then, the genealogy up to David.
Judah was one of the twelve. This is the line given, from Judah to David: Perez, Hezron, Jerahmeel, Ram, Amminadab, Nahshon, Salma, Boaz, Obed, and Jesse. David was the seventh son of Jesse.
