Cheese Potato Casserole

3-4 large potatoes
salt and pepper to taste
4-5 slices of bacon, fried until crispy
1 large onion, sliced
1/2 lb. grated american cheese
1 stick butter

Pare and slice potatoes into a casserole dish; add salt and pepper. Crumble bacon over potatoes. Add sliced onions. Add cheese. Slice butter over the top of the casserole. Cover and bake at 400 for 45-60 minutes. Uncover and bake for about 5-10 minutes until the top is golden. Serves 6.
